VERNON UNITED PROGRAM INFORMATION

This Regional Program is for players U11-U18 and allows our local coaches and players to develop alongside players and coaches from other Thompson Okanagan BC Soccer Clubs/Districts which include Kelowna, Penticton, Salmon Arm, Kamloops and Revelstoke. This program is suited for motivated soccer players who strive to play soccer at a select level. Evaluations are held in August to determine the team rosters for the following spring season. Indoor Fall and Winter training commence in October focusing on individual skills and team training, the Fall training is provided by NOYSA Technical Director Dave Broadhurst and assisted by the team coaches. The fall and winter indoor sessions are not mandatory but are strongly recommended. League play consist of Sunday games played in one of the participating cities. The Spring practices are Tuesday & Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and they are mandatory. If a team (U13 and older) qualifies to represent NOYSA/VU at The Provincial Cup, attendance is also mandatory. The Spring League runs from April until the end of June. Provincial Cups are usually early July.

U11 & U12 DIVISIONS-

The U11 and U12 Divisions of Vernon United are called the Development Program. The Development Program is designed to teach the players and the coaches the game at a technical degree that is beyond the regular recreational house program. The objective is to keep the game FUN for the players within a positive and challenging learning environment. Coaches, parents and players will be introduced to the roles and responsibilities of the Development and Rep Program structure. This is a development program so no scores are recorded as the focus is on development of the players. The U11/12 have the same training schedule as the rest of the Vernon United however on Sundays they will play 2 games, both in the same city.
