The mission statement of the VSA is "to promote the participation in and development of soccer in and about the Greater Vernon area." The focus of the VSA has been the enhancement and development of soccer facilities. The VSA's most visible accomplishments to date are the VantageOne Indoor Soccer Centre as well as the MacDonald Park Clubhouse and the adjacent storage facility.
The VSA membership include's:
North Okanagan Youth Soccer Association (NOYSA),
North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association (NOWSA),
North Okanagan Soccer League, Vernon Soccer Referees’ Association and
Vernon teams participating in the Okanagan Mens’ Over 35 and Over 45 Leagues.
The VSA has a strong working relationship with Greater Vernon Services (GVS), striving to improve the quality of soccer venues and playing fields, in addition to providing vital
input and direction for expansion and enhancement of soccer resources within Vernon. This relationship has culminated with the Vernon Indoor Soccer Facility, which is in full operation as of October 15, 2006.
