The Whitecaps FC, North Okanagan Youth Soccer Association and School District No. 22 (Vernon) offer within the school curriculum, a School Board authority credited course over one semester
(September - January) at the VantageOne Indoor Soccer Centre in Vernon
QUICK FACTS
The Whitecaps FC Vernon School Academy is a North Okanagan Youth Soccer Association DDC Program and is partner with the School District No.22.
- 7th year of NOYSA offered school program
- 3rd year as the Whitecaps FC Vernon School Academy
- 74 student-athletes registered 2010 / 2011
- Board of Education approved course credits for both Principle of Soccer and for Physical Education
- Program operates over one semester from September to the end of January
- Five ½ day sessions per week
- Student/athletes are from all secondary schools in the School District No. 22 - all schools are on a common timetable and this allows school to accommodate the course scheduling process with specialty programs. NOYSA administers the program and NOYSA office is located at the indoor facility
- Whitecaps FC hire the coaches for the program
- Students are bussed to and from the facility to their schools
- Curriculum includes Whitecaps and BC Soccer DDC coach visits as well as a fully comprehensive computer program (Scouting Solutions) for all student/athletes
- Cost of program for 2010 Fall Semester $975 payable to Whitecaps FC Vernon School Soccer Academy
HOMESTAY OR COMMUTE?
If you do not live in the School District No. 22 catchment area and daily driving (carpooling) to the program is not a preferred option the School District has a well structured Homestay program.
